Gallbladder Cancer
The gallbladder is a smallish organ found at the top of your tummy; its main use is to help you digest food. Gallbladder cancer can be found in any part of the gallbladder. It is usually noticed and found if someone is having treatment for other conditions such as gallstones.
Symptoms to look out for
There are many symptoms to look out for with Gallbladder cancer, these include:
- Skin turning yellow – Jaundice
- An elevated temperature or feeling hot or shivery

Abdominal Scan
Here at Ultrasound Care, we can offer a 30-minute abdominal scan for only £89, and we can usually get you an appointment within a few days, let us help put your mind at ease.
At the abdominal scan, we can scan several major organs including the gallbladder, appendix, liver, pancreas, and spleen. The scan uses soundwaves to produce images of structures in the abdomen, the images that are produced help us examine the tissues, organs, and other structures in the abdomen. The abdominal scan will help identify the problems you may be having in that area.
The procedure
In preparation for your scan, we ask you to do the following:
- Do not eat anything for between 6-8 hours before your scan
- Drink only water, (clear fluids only)
- Maintain taking your routine medication
- Remove any abdominal piercings you may have
You will be asked to lie comfortably on your back on an examination table, a gel substance will then be added to the stomach area, The actual scan should not be painful, a transducer wand will press slightly on the abdomen but should not cause you any pain. The wand-like device will move around the abdominal area and will send high-frequency waves to your body to pick up the responding signal.
Once the scan is finished a report will be compiled for you to take to your GP to follow up on.
